About Me

I have practiced Hatha Yoga since 1995 and taught general classes since 2004, qualifying as a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher in 2007.  I am committed to continual professional development as a BWY Teacher and attend in-service training days, workshops and home study regularly.

In 2009 I began to practice and study meditation with Maarten Vermaase and completed the second of two BWY post diploma modules in 2011.  In 2017 I also completed his Pranayama module.

Maarten’s teachings continue to influence both my practice and style of teaching.

Maarten’s ongoing support and instruction in deepening and developing my own knowledge, understanding and practice in both movement and stillness has led me towards a more integrated and meditative practice and style of teaching.

I aim for inclusive classes where each member practices and develops to their own ability, flexibility and strength within the structure of the group.

Where possible, movements and postures can be modified or developed further to allow for personal limitations and strengths.
General classes include a blend of techniques and exercises to help develop awareness and concentration; balance and stability; strength and flexibility in both movement and in stillness.  Breath awareness is fundamental to all practices.
Begin where we are
Each incoming breath a new beginning
Each outgoing breath a letting go
